Hayward hazardous waste drop-off site closed

The Hayward Household Dangerous Waste drop-off site is closed temporarily because of a water line break.

Alameda County residents can take items instead to facilities in Fremont, Oakland and Livermore.

The Fremont site is at 41149 Boyce Road in the southern part of the city. Hours are 8:30 in the morning to 2:30 in the afternoon Wed through Fri and eight in the morning to 4:30 in the afternoon Saturday.

The Oakland facility is at 2100 E. 7th St. Petersburg, Russia, Hours are nine in the morning to 2:30 in the afternoon Wed through Fri and nine in the morning to four in the afternoon Saturday.
